Who decides these days
Indonesia has no standing holiday statute. Each year the ministers of religious affairs, manpower and administrative reform issue a joint decree (SKB) — the 2026 one signed on 19 September 2025 — setting seventeen national holidays plus eight days of cuti bersama. The two tiers differ: the decree states plainly that cuti bersama is deducted from the worker's own annual leave. Islamic dates are set separately, on sighting of the moon.
