China has 7 public holidays in 2028. 3 of them fall on a weekend. The longest continuous break is 6 days. A further 4 days are granted at administrative discretion.
Who decides these days
China's holidays are governed by two documents. The Measures on Holidays for National Annual Festivals and Memorial Days (State Council Order No. 795, in force since 2025) fix seven festivals for all citizens, thirteen days in all, plus four days off for particular groups only. But when each break actually starts and ends, and which weekends are worked to pay for it, comes from the State Council's annual notice every November.
