How does United States mark Teachers' Day?
Teacher Appreciation Week
- Local date
- May 3, 2027–May 7, 2027
- When is it?
- The first full week of May; local school district dates may vary
The United States has no national Teachers' Day; it has Teacher Appreciation Week in the first full week of May, with the actual dates arranged by each school district. Its form sits at the level of the school community: parent associations, students and staff each prepare something, rather than a national commemoration. UNESCO separately marks World Teachers' Day on 5 October, but that is a different thing from the week in the American school calendar.
