How does China mark Labour Day Dates by Country?

In mainland China, Labour Day gets two days off under the national holiday regulation: 1 and 2 May. The second of May was added in the 2024 revision — the same revision that brought Lunar New Year's Eve into the Spring Festival break. In practice shifted workdays are then used to build a longer run, so the actual length of the 'May Day holiday' is decided each year by a State Council notice rather than being fixed.

Labour Day usually falls on 1 May, but the date and the time off depend on the country: the United States observes Labor Day on the first Monday of September, Japan works on 1 May between its Golden Week holidays, and India leaves 1 May to state and institutional calendars.
Taiwan, mainland China, Brazil and Indonesia all place a public observance on 1 May, with different rules for who gets time off and how long the break lasts.
