- The 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah in the Islamic calendar; not included in the Regulations for Implementing Commemoration Days and Holidays, collective prayers are mostly arranged with the employer's consent.
Taiwan's Act on Commemorative Days and Holidays lists religious days one by one — the Daoist day, the Buddha's birthday — yet neither Eid al-Fitr nor Eid al-Adha appears; the Islamic calendar is simply absent from that list. In practice Taiwan hosts hundreds of thousands of migrant workers from Indonesia, and whether leave can be had for the congregational prayer rests with the employer. The Ministry of Labor's approach is a press release urging employers to be flexible, not an amendment to the Act. So the day looks like this here: the mosques fill as usual, but the attendance was paid for out of personal leave.
