Indonesia also lists the Ascension of Jesus Christ, the fortieth day after Easter, as a national holiday — 14 May in 2026, a Thursday. That day is not a holiday in any of the other six places here, not even Brazil or the United States. In the 2026 joint ministerial decree, 3 April is the death of Jesus Christ, 5 April is the resurrection of Jesus Christ (Paskah), 14 May is the Ascension, and 25 December is the birth of Jesus Christ — all four are national holidays. A country with a Muslim majority has placed the entire stretch of the church calendar from Good Friday to Ascension into the national schedule.
